| On June 17, 2011, Mr. John Grace, Chief, Source Protection and Appropriation Division, Maryland Department of the Environment, Water Management Administration issued a revised Water Appropriation Permit to the
Deep Creek Lake Hydroelectric Generation Project. Highlights are listed under hot news. The revised permit came about as the result of the drought conditions experienced at Deep Creek and the surrounding area in 2010.
The revised permit represents a considerable effort and consensus of all stakeholders in the Deep Creek Lake watershed to better manage our valuable resource.
